Program Overview
St. Hilda’s & St. Hugh’s educational philosophy reflects the needs of children at each stage of their young lives. We understand child development, so each day is planned carefully to provide necessary structure while also allowing for creativity and play. We work hard to teach lessons that help our students grow in knowledge, competence, and confidence.  Our teachers' hands-on, exuberant, and energetic teaching styles instill in their students a love of learning and commitment to personal excellence. Our students are well prepared to succeed in future academic endeavors and to actively contribute to their local and global communities.
Lower Division
As an elementary school, we are entrusted with the care and education of students at the beginning of their school lives. Our classrooms and curriculum are designed for young children, providing age-appropriate environments and activities that stimulate all aspects of their development.

The lower division begins with our early childhood program,
which includes beginners, nursery, junior kindergarten, and senior kindergarten. The lower school includes grades 1 through 3.

Upper Division
We introduce students to new academic and intellectual challenges in the upper division, where students begin to take greater responsibility for their education and play a more active role in the school community. The upper division is a time for many “firsts” – overnight trips, student socials, team sports, and student council participation, among others. Our dedicated faculty guide students through these new endeavors, instilling in them the skills, confidence, and work habits that will help them succeed at our school and beyond.

The upper division consists of middle school (grades 4 through 6) and upper school (grades 7 and 8).
