Mr. Bailey-Castro: Featured Artist

Upper division social studies teacher Duane Bailey-Castro is currently one of the featured artists at the new Bronx Children’s Museum. The museum features work by a variety of artists from the Bronx, including Mr. Bailey-Castro.

In addition to being a teacher, Mr. Bailey-Castro is an accomplished photographer specializing in urban landscape and travel photography. His main focus is on the little-known Harlem River Bridges connecting the Bronx and Manhattan, both as structures and symbols that offer an intimate look at the communities they connect. Mr. Bailey-Castro’s photograph of the Harlem River which is on display at the museum, and highlighted above, was captured with a drone, and is actually nine separate photographs combined into one!
